Jerry White calls for workers and youth to attend national anti-war conference

DETROIT — October 24, 2016 — Socialist Equality Party presidential candidate Jerry White has denounced the US-led siege of the Iraqi city of Mosul, where 1.5 million people, including 600,000 children, remain trapped.

White calls on workers and youth to join the fight against imperialist war and attend the anti-war conference, “Socialism vs. Capitalism and War,” being held on November 5, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Wayne State University, General Lectures Room 100, 5045 Anthony Wayne Drive, Detroit, MI.

In his statement, White says: “The impending bloodbath in Mosul exposes the Obama administration’s hypocritical concern about civilian deaths in Aleppo, and its charges of Syrian and Russian war crimes.

“While the media is fixated on Donald Trump’s sexual behavior, nothing is being said about Clinton’s plans for further US military intervention in Syria, and a confrontation with Russia. Whether Clinton or Trump wins the election, the American ruling class is determined to assert its domination over the oil-rich Middle East and the world, even if it means nuclear war with Russia and China.”

Millions of workers and youth oppose the United States’ endless wars, which have killed millions of people and squandered trillions of dollars. The Socialist Equality Party is uniting the working class worldwide around an anti-capitalist and socialist program against war, inequality and repression.
